Happy 4th Of July For Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge

Hello Everyone! Can you believe that 4th of July is next week!  4th of July is one of my favorite holidays.  My hubby and I decorate the wheels on our bikes with red, white and blue crepe paper streamers and participate in the neighborhood bike parade. It is always so much fun. Even our dog, Woody, comes along with us.  We have a bike trailer that he rides in that has been adapted with a wood floor so he can stand up in it. Woody has a pair of Doggles that he wears to keep the bugs and road dirt out of his eyes.  He has as much fun as we do.   .   . maybe even more, because everyone says hello to him!

Today at Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge, I am so happy to be hosting. For this week's challenge,  I have chosen  Add A BANNER to a card or project . I hope that you will join in on this fun challenge! Your entry will give you an opportunity to be the winner of one this week's wonderful prizes from 7 Kids College Fund and The Ribbon Girl.

For my card, I used Lilly Bimble Patriotic Digi Design Papers from MyGrafico. I added a Double Mat of Red and Blue Card Stock using the Perfect Layers RulersBurger Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I used the Scor Bubby to create the Bunting Banner. I used the stripes in the Design Paper as a guide for the score lines. Then I used  FabricTac to form and to add the K & Company Americana Pillow Stars to each bunting.

I created the picnic table by cutting a rectangle out of the Design Paper and two oblong diamonds to place on the corners. The legs are just two strips of brown card stock. The Pie is from Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers and the Condiments are from Stampa Barbara. Unfortunately these two companies have gone out of business. The little flag in the pie is from a Studio G Clear Stamp Set.   .   . the flag is on a cupcake.  For the grass, I used Martha Stewart Grass Border Punch.  Before I glued everything down, I sponged some clouds in the background using a cloud template. "Happy Fourth Of July" is also from Studio G. The ribbon is from Michaels.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! And, for those of you in the USA, I hope that you and your families have a fun and safe 4th of July!

When I first saw the beautiful inspiration photo, I knew that I had to use feathers on my card. I wanted use down feathers, so I bought a white feather boa at a local craft store. I cut the light wispy feathers out of it! I have feathers  all over my craft room now. LOL!  It was a lot of fun to use a different embellishment on my card though.

For my card, I used Graphic 45 - Always On My Mind and Spellbound Design Papers. Even though they are from two different Collections, I think they look good together.
Tilda in the Garden, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. For the frame behind Tilda, I used Hot Off The Press Layered Labels Template. After tracing and cutting out the Fancy Label A and B, I matted them with Green Card Stock. The Cherish Banner was stamped using Fiskars Clear Wedding Stamp Set. I  stamped it using a combination of green and rust chalk inks to match the pattern in the Design Paper. The pearl flourishes are from Recollections. The ribbon is from JoAnns. The flowers are from my stash.

Purple and White For Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well and that you are enjoying the beginning of the Summer.  Here in the Southern California, we've been having a bit of June Gloom.  .   . cloudy in the morning and then they burn off by the early afternoon.  .  .perfect weather to work outside in the garden.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to, because a swarm of bees came through my backyard Memorial Day Weekend and landed in the neighbor's tree.  My Dad, who was a bee keeper for 25 years, one of his hobbies, has told me to stay out of the backyard until the bees have been removed. In recent years, some of the bees in California have become very aggressive and have been known to attack people if they feel threatened.  I have such fond memories of going with my Dad to tend to his hives and the honey from them was the best I have ever tasted.

Today at Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge, we are being hosted by the talented Monika. The theme this week is to use Purple and White on a card or project . I hope that you will join in on this fun challenge! Your entry will give you an opportunity to be the winner of one of this week's wonderful prizes from Crafty Sentiments Designs and Stamping Scrapping

For my card, I decided to use Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations  #657217 Vintage Cabinet Card Die. I placed a folded piece of white card stock just inside the cutting line to cut the card out. Then I cut additional pieces out of  Printworks Design Paper. I just had a little piece left of this beautiful purple and white paper.   .    .I wish the purple would of photographed better. The true color is much richer.

Loves Me Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  For the frame, I used Hot Off The Press Layered Labels Template - Squared Oval Label A. I traced and cut it out and then matted it with some purple card stock. The "just sittin' here thinking of you" is from C.C. Designs Amy R Stamps - Wish You Were Here Set. For the fence, I used the Magnolia Lovely Fence Die Cut. For the butterflies, I used Martha Stewart  3 in 1 Butterfly Punch. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The scalloped trim is from Offray and the flowered trim is from my stash. The pearls are from Hero Arts.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I really do love reading the comments that you leave for me and appreciate each and every one of them.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Aloha for Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Color Inspiration Challenge

Aloha Everyone! Can you believe that it is already June! Where has the year gone! Before making my card for today, I went through my dies and pulled out all the Summer ones. I always forget to use the dies that I have in my stash. I found some cute ones to use to make this card!

Well, it's that time again for another Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Inspiration Color Challenge. The challenge is being hosted by the talented  Katie Tate who has chosen this wonderful photo to inspire us all.

The challenge is to use Pink, Orange, Green and White

I hope it inspires you to play along with us! All you need to do is to use a Magnolia image on your card or project. Your entry will give you the opportunity to be the lucky winner of a Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious, the best place to shop for Maggies!  Diana also has the new Freedom Liberty Tilda and accessory stamps to match in stock!  I'm so happy that Magnolia came out with these stamps! I can't wait to ink them up!

For this challenge, I though it would be fun to make a pocket card. I die cut the pocket using Lifestyle Crafts Treat Bag.  The Design Papers that I used are from Me and My Big Ideas Destination Paradise 8 x 8 Paper Pad.  Flip Flop Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

I made the grass fringe using some green raffia that I had saved from a gift that I had received. I'm so glad that I did, because I think it came out pretty cute from something that I recycled. I just placed Scor Tape on the edge of the back of the Design Paper and added little pieces of raffia to it. Once that was done, I used a ruler and an Xacto knife to trim it evenly.

For the hibiscus, I used Sizzlits Hawaiian Flower #2. I tried to replicate the ones on the Design Paper with a white center. I also curled the petals a little bit using a ball burnisher. For the leaves, I used Sizzlits Hawaiian Leaf.  For the shell on top of the insert, I used Sizzlits Shells #2.  I die cut two shells to make the pull tab. I glued them back to front,  so that they would match up.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you take a minute to visit the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and see all the gorgeous cards that the other Design Team Member have created!! I hope they will inspire you to join in on the fun!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Big Hugs,

You Are Berry Berry Special To Me

Hello Everyone!  As you may have noticed, I love to use Digital Design Papers on my cards. Unfortunately, my favorite Epson Printer gave out last week and I now have to use another Epson All In One Printer that I have.  The colors are not printing the same as my favorite printer use to do, so I've been trying to play with the settings. Until I get the colors right, I had to go through my stash of Design Papers to look for some papers to use for the upcoming cards I need to make.  I came across the Doodlebug Design Papers that I used on this card. I've been saving it in my stash for a while now, thinking someday I would use it for something special! I think that is why I like Digi Design Papers so much. You can print them over and over again in any size you want them to be in.

For my card, I used Doodlebug Berry Pink and Cupcake Swiss Dots Design Papers. Berry Tilda was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  For the scalloped frame, I used Hot Off The Press Scalloped Frames Template. I traced and cut the 4" one and then matted it with green card stock.

For the frame that Tilda is sitting on, I used 6" wide Scor Tape, lace that I found at JoAnns, The Art Institute Glitter #87 Hot Kiss  and Sizzix #655028 Frame #2 Die.  You first stick the Scor Tape on a piece of  white card stock. Then you place the lace on top of it and add the glitter. Once that is done, you can die cut it into any shape. I saw this technique demonstrated at a local stamp convention.  The glitter doesn't show up very well on the photo, but it looks really pretty in person.

For the "You are Berry Berry Special" saying, I used a Studio G Stamp that I found at Michaels. It was traced and cut out using Hot Off The Press 15 Lovely Labels Mini Bracket Label. The little strawberry is from a Japanese Sticker Set that I received from a very sweet friend. The doily and the lace is from my stash.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and All Natural Accents. For the flourishes, I used a die from Bosskut.

Thank you for stopping by my blog!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I'm entering this card in the Wild Orchid Crafts Week 51 - Eyes Down For Bingo Challenge - Ribbon and Lace, Flowers and Pink
