Take A Hike for Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Inspiration Challenge

Hello Everyone! It's that time again for another Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is being hosted by the talented Jane.  For this inspiration challenge, Jane has chosen this wonderful photo.

I hope it inspires you to play along with us! All you need to do is to use a MAGNOLIA IMAGE on your card or project. Your entry will give you the opportunity to be the lucky winner of a Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious, the best place to shop for Maggies. Diana has the cute new Australia Collection on Pre-Order with a 18% discount off the everyday low price and you can also Pre-order them individually! The new Memory Box Fall and Christmas Dies are also on Pre-order as well!

The earthy colors in the photo inspired me to create a mountain scene with Hiking Edwin from the Turning Leaves Collection. I decided to make a pocket card using Lifestyle Crafts Treat Bag. For the background, I used Imaginisce Design Papers that I purchased at Michaels. I tore a piece of brown cardstock for the ground on which Edwin would be hiking on. I added some grass using Martha Stewart Grass Border Punch. I punched it out of two different green cardstocks. I cut the grass borders into smaller sections and then adhered them the ground. The pine trees were cut using Sizzix Originals Die #38-0179.  I stamped Hiking Edwin and Sign With Birds, from Magnolia-licious, on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored them using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I cut the birds off the sign and added an owl button that I bought at Michaels. Then, I added a little bit of twine to the top of the pocket.

For the insert, I added a compass from K & Company.
The little pinecone was made using Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone Die.

Made With Love For Magnoila-licious Challenge Blog Color Challenge

Hello Everyone! It's that time again for another Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Color Inspiration Challenge. The two challenges for this month are being hosted by the talented Jane. For the color challenge, Jane has chosen this wonderful photo.

 Pink, Blue and White

I hope it inspires you to play along with us! All you need to do is to use a MAGNOLIA IMAGE and the colors PINK, BLUE and WHITE on your card or project. Your entry will give you the opportunity to be the lucky winner of a Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious, the best place to shop for Maggies. Diana has the cute new Australia Collection on Pre-Order with a 18% discount off her everyday low price. There is a limited quantity, so if you would like a set, make sure you use the link and order one today!

For my card, I used Pinecone Press Blue Bell and Party Games Design Papers. I printed the quilt using DJ Inker's Ultimate Doodle Collection Quilt Block 3 onto the two different design papers  and cut out the pieces to make the quilt. Tailor Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  The pin cushion is from DJ Inker's Scraps and Stitches Digi CD.

For the scallop border around the quilt, I used  EK Success Dotted Scallop Slim Edger Punch. For the doily, I used Cheery Lynn Designs DL102 French Pastry Doily Die. The pink roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the blue rose is from my stash. The scissor button is from Dress It Up - All Sewn Up Collection that I found at Michaels. The little white buttons I found at Joann Fabric and Craft. And, the heart pins are from Heidi Grace Designs.
