The Color Inspiration Challenge is being hosted by our very sweet Design Team Leader,  Candy.  For this challenge, Candy has chosen this wonderful photo.

I hope it inspires you to play along with us! All you need to do is to use a MAGNOLIA IMAGE on your card or project along with the COLORS in the inspiration photo. Your entry will give you the opportunity to be the lucky winner of a Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious, the best place to shop for Maggies and many other great things!  Diana has the new MagnoliaInk Turning Leaves 2012 - Issue #5 in stock! She also has a Halloween/Autumn Bundle of 14 Mini Stamps with a 28% Savings!!

For my card, I cut a 5 inch circle with Martha Stewart Circle Cutter and then scored it in half using the Scor Buddy. I added design paper from My Minds Eye Six By Six - A Happy Heart Collection.  Autumn Tilda With Broom, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and was colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I paper pieced Tilda's outfit using card stock and design papers.  I cut the frame behind Tilda and the one she is sitting on using the Layered Labels Template from Hot Off The Press. I matted them both with some black design paper. The crocheted lace is from Joann's. The sunflowers are from My Moments that I purchase from Paper Wishes. The small roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The other roses and twine are from my stash. The little brass embellishments on the frame are from K & Company.

Cherish For Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Inspiration Challenge

Hello Everyone!! It's that time again for another Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is being hosted by the talented Katie Tate who has chosen this wonderful photo to inspire us all.

I  hope it inspires you to play along with us! All you need to do is to use a Magnolia image on your card or project. Your entry will give you the opportunity to be the lucky winner of a Gift Certificate to Magnolia-licious, the best place to shop for Maggies.

When I first saw the beautiful inspiration photo, I knew that I had to use feathers on my card. I wanted use down feathers, so I bought a white feather boa at a local craft store. I cut the light wispy feathers out of it! I have feathers  all over my craft room now. LOL!  It was a lot of fun to use a different embellishment on my card though.

For my card, I used Graphic 45 - Always On My Mind and Spellbound Design Papers. Even though they are from two different Collections, I think they look good together.
Tilda in the Garden, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. For the frame behind Tilda, I used Hot Off The Press Layered Labels Template. After tracing and cutting out the Fancy Label A and B, I matted them with Green Card Stock. The Cherish Banner was stamped using Fiskars Clear Wedding Stamp Set. I  stamped it using a combination of green and rust chalk inks to match the pattern in the Design Paper. The pearl flourishes are from Recollections. The ribbon is from JoAnns. The flowers are from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and I hope you take a minute to visit the
Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and see all the gorgeous cards and project that the other Design Team Member have created!! I hope they will inspire you to join in on the fun!!

I can't wait to see what you create!

Have a wonderful week!

Purple and White For Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all doing well and that you are enjoying the beginning of the Summer.  Here in the Southern California, we've been having a bit of June Gloom.  .   . cloudy in the morning and then they burn off by the early afternoon.  .  .perfect weather to work outside in the garden.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to, because a swarm of bees came through my backyard Memorial Day Weekend and landed in the neighbor's tree.  My Dad, who was a bee keeper for 25 years, one of his hobbies, has told me to stay out of the backyard until the bees have been removed. In recent years, some of the bees in California have become very aggressive and have been known to attack people if they feel threatened.  I have such fond memories of going with my Dad to tend to his hives and the honey from them was the best I have ever tasted.

Today at Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge, we are being hosted by the talented Monika. The theme this week is to use Purple and White on a card or project . I hope that you will join in on this fun challenge! Your entry will give you an opportunity to be the winner of one of this week's wonderful prizes from Crafty Sentiments Designs and Stamping Scrapping.

For my card, I decided to use Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations  #657217 Vintage Cabinet Card Die. I placed a folded piece of white card stock just inside the cutting line to cut the card out. Then I cut additional pieces out of  Printworks Design Paper. I just had a little piece left of this beautiful purple and white paper.   .    .I wish the purple would of photographed better. The true color is much richer.

Loves Me Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  For the frame, I used Hot Off The Press Layered Labels Template - Squared Oval Label A. I traced and cut it out and then matted it with some purple card stock. The "just sittin' here thinking of you" is from C.C. Designs Amy R Stamps - Wish You Were Here Set. For the fence, I used the Magnolia Lovely Fence Die Cut. For the butterflies, I used Martha Stewart  3 in 1 Butterfly Punch. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The scalloped trim is from Offray and the flowered trim is from my stash. The pearls are from Hero Arts.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I really do love reading the comments that you leave for me and appreciate each and every one of them.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Big Hugs,

Suzan

Love Is In The Air For Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge

Hello Everyone! I'm sorry that I  haven't posted a card in awhile, but my Mother-in-law,
Suzanne Ruth Galle Laverty, passed away the end of April. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 26 and lived with it for 48 years.  Throughout her life, her faith in God was strong.  She was always grateful and felt very blessed.  I can't tell you how much she will be missed.

Today at Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge, we are being hosted by the very talented  Jacque.  She has created this wonderful sketch for us to use.

I hope that you will join in on this fun challenge! Your entry will give you an opportunity to be the winner of this week's wonderful prize from Jacobi NL.

For my card, I have rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left.  I have used My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody Design Papers. Rose Scent Tilda, from Magnolia-licious, was stamped on Cryogen White Card Stock and colored using Alcohol Markers, Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  For the frame that Tilda is sitting on, I used Hot Off The Press Layered Labels Template. After tracing and cutting out Fancy Label A, I stamped it using Sandylion French Impressions Clear Stamp Set and then added pearls from Hero Arts. The "LOVE" was stamped using Impression Obsession WP-17 Sentiments II Clear Stamp Set. This a great set to have, because it has all sorts of words that you can combine or use separately. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Recollections, and All Natural Accents. The lace is from my stash.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me! I'll be by to visit your blogs soon! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Big Hugs,
Suzan
